Where the hell have I been? (part 1... CES)

2009 started with a bang and I've been getting my ass kicked ever since. New Year's Eve was spent catching up with old friends and playing old-school trivia games. A few days later I got the call (from my day job) that I would be working the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) trade show in Las Vegas - and staying at the Hard Rock Hotel (one of my personal favorite places)! A few hours later my wife ends up taking a huge fall nearly breaking her ankle! Needless to say we both had one hell of a time getting her to the doctor that weekend, not to mention getting her around the house. Good for me she is petite! At any rate I had to leave for Las Vegas and CES went well. I was there doing demos of a new electric guitar. I somehow always get the call to demo new technological wonders for the company. As soon as I landed I assisted getting our huge booth setup. I also had to get a crash course on some new software that comes bundled with the guitar and do a demo for Intel. Stressed out I was able to get some assistance from a couple of the guys assisting with the demo stations and pulled it off just fine! Eventhough attendance was down at CES due to the economy there were some cool things to see there. 3D was the new "in" thing. There were 3D video game kiosks and a cool 3D/HD tv at Samsung that required no glasses - WAY COOL! I think what I liked the most about working CES this year was getting to know other people in my company. Lucky for you some of the shenanigans were caught on YouTube - thanks internet!
