Exclusive First Looks, Interactive Game That Allows Movie Fans to Explore 'Prometheus' Using Verizon's Smart Home Service, and Weekly Giveaways all Part of Verizon's 'Prometheus: Mission Connect Sweepstakes'
Leading up to the June release of director Ridley Scott's motion picture event "Prometheus," Verizon is delivering an immersive experience that enables movie fans to navigate the inside of the spaceship, using the company's Smart Home Service, Verizon Home Monitoring and Control.
Verizon's "Prometheus: Mission Connect Sweepstakes" lets fans explore and control settings in each room of the ship, from which the film and sweepstakes take their titles, while unlocking exclusive content and earning additional sweepstakes entries every step of the way. As part of the Sweepstakes, Verizon will send one lucky winner and a guest on a trip to London to tour the studio where "Prometheus" was filmed. The grand-prize drawing will be held on June 22. Visit www.verizon.com/mission to find out more and start exploring.
Ridley Scott, director of "Alien" and "Blade Runner," returns to the genre he helped define. With "Prometheus," he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
Verizon is also offering exclusive first looks at the movie on the Verizon FiOS Facebook page as well as via FiOS TV's video-on-demand library. Fans of FiOS can check back regularly on a countdown clock to find out when new content will be available for viewing.
Trip to Fox Studios in LA Studio and Weekly Prizes
In addition to the exclusive content and grand-prize trip to London, Verizon will award weekly prizes including multiple trips for two to Los Angeles to tour the Fox studios, and dinner-and-a-movie packages (four tickets to see "Prometheus" in theaters when it premieres on June 8 and a $200 gift card to cover dinner and movie snacks). The Verizon Prometheus: Mission Connect Sweepstakes makes entering for chances to win easy. Simply register at www.verizon.com/mission.
"Like those intrepid explorers in the movie who stay connected to Prometheus via technology no matter how far in space they are, Verizon Home Monitoring and Control allows consumers to manage their home from anywhere by viewing live camera streaming, turning on lights, changing the temperature or controlling door locks," said Angie Klein, vice president for product development for Verizon. "And Verizon's virtual game offers sneak peeks at the movie and gives those who can't wait for the June 8 premiere a chance to win some great prizes."
