Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke has been hospitalized after breaking his leg in a motorcycle accident, MTV “Headbangers Ball” host Riki Rachtman has reported.
Rachtman, who visited Clarke in the hospital, writes on his Twitter page: “His [Clarke’s] leg’s busted up pretty bad. It was a hit-and-run … Gilby’s got some good breakage in that leg. He is in good spirits considering.”
Clarke replaced Izzy Stradlin in Guns N’ Roses in November 1991, and remained with the band for the next three years. In addition to releasing several solos albums, he’s played with Heart, Nancy Sinatra, and the reformed MC5 on the group’s 2005 European tour, as well as other artists. He’s also produced such bands as L.A. Guns, Ladyjack, and Bullets and Octane, among others.
Traci Guns, guitarist for L.A. Guns and a friend of Clarke’s, echoed Rachtman’s assessment in a Facebook posting.
“Gilby got nailed on his motorcycle last night (Jan. 10). His leg is broken in three places. I’m gonna try to go see him tonight – he will be ok.”

Slash Turned Down Millions For Guns N’ Roses Reunion
As Slash prepares for the arrival of his star-studded solo album, due in April, in a new interview with GQ magazine the guitarist revealed he has turned down more than $100-million to reunite with Guns N’ Roses. "I can't remember exact numbers, but [the offers have been] excessive," he said. "Seven, eight-digit kinds of things."
The reunion offers started coming soon after Slash left the lineup in 1993, having come to a personal impasse with lead singer Axl Rose. "Things were so abrasive by the time I left," the 44-year-old musician said. "I've never thought, 'Oh, wouldn't it be nice to get back together'. Because I know it wouldn't."
